Gavin was a gift from god and an angel that was called back to heaven July 16th 2021, at the young age of 16. He was born May 23rd 2005 and was diagnosed with Dipg at the age of 14 on August 12th 2019. Gavin was such a tough warrior with the braviest heart and an innocent soul. He was a car enthusiast who loved working on his Mitsubishi Eclipse, shopping on Amazon, collecting hot wheels, spending time with his family and friends. He absolutely loved shopping for clothes to dress to impress! During Gavin's 23 month journey with Dipg, he recieved many gifts and cards that would always put a smile on his face which is why we at Gavin's Hope want to do the same for other children.
Gavin had so much courage, strength and hope and he never let Dipg define him. Dipg was just a temporary piece of him, so he lived life to the fullest and loved deeply. Gavin could enter a room and brighten it up with his smile, his attitude or just his presence. Beyond his great big smile was a great big heart whose capacity to love was greater than Dipg or any brain tumor could destroy. No matter what he endured from the tumor, He chose to Raise Awareness to Childhood Cancer even though the odds were against him. He wanted a cure for the next child! Gavin was a loving son, a big brother to Cameron, a little brother to Kayli and an amazing uncle to Ryder. He wanted the world for them. So what better gift from their brother than to leave behind than a beautiful legacy, Gavin's Hope. A legacy that keeps on giving and that will be carried on by his mom, step dad, brother, sister, nephew, by the countless many he left behind and the countless many whose lives are forever changed because of him.
